Cyberbullying: An Update, and a Renewed Call to Action

Cyberbullying and related forms of online abuse continue to require the attention of scholars, practitioners, families, communities, and governments, particularly in an environment where the mental health and well-being of so many around the world has been compromised because of COVID-19. Based on 2021 data from a number of countries, I will provide updates on the scope and extent of these problem behaviors before detailing which specific prevention and response strategies should be prioritized. Through continued intentional efforts by all stakeholders – and by enlisting the help of potential targets themselves – we can foster healthier online environments and interactions.
