René Veenstra

René Veenstra is Professor of Sociology at the University of Groningen and former director of the Interuniversity Center for Social Science Theory and Methodology (ICS) in the Netherlands. He also serves as editor of the Handbook of Peer Interactions, Relationships, and Groups and associate editor of Merrill-Palmer Quarterly. His research focuses on bullying as a group-level phenomenon, with particular attention to social network processes, peer influence, social goals, social norms, and the healthy context paradox. For WABF 2027, René hopes to be truly inspired by keynote speakers and fellow researchers who challenge prevailing assumptions and bring forward new ideas and perspectives.
