Insoo Oh, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Education at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea. He holds a doctoral degree in Counselor Education from the Pennsylvania State University. He was an assistant professor at the University of South Carolina and a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Hawaii-Manoa.
His research has focused on bystander’s reaction to school bullying and cyberbullying. He has conducted practical preventive intervention research on bullying based on 10 years of public school teacher experience.
He was a recipient of the Award for Prevention and Eradication of School Violence by the Ministry of Education in 2016. He was the editor of the Journal of Educational Studies and has published over 120 peer-reviewed journal articles and five academic books on bullying.
Recently, he has been interested in interventions that prevent bullying based on positive psychology and social-emotional learning (SEL). His speech introduces effective response to the ever-evolving challenges of cyberbullying in Korea.
