Bullying/peer victimization among marginalized youth.
Youth at-risk for bullying involvement as victims and perpetrators often belong to social identity groups that are marginalized or minoritized. This form of bullying is often called identity-based bullying and often emerges as a results of prejudice or discrimination toward certain social identity groups. In this keynote, Professor Espelage will define identity based bullying and present research on the prevalence and outcomes of identity-based bullying related to race and ethnicity, sexual and gender identity, and disability status among other identities.
